30 Aug Taste of Temple Street: Filipino Bites by Bike
On Thursday, August 24, 2017, we partnered with C.I.C.L.E. and the Pilipino Workers’ Center for Taste of Temple Street: Filipino Bites by Bike, presented by Metro. This was a Hidden Hi Fi: Halo-Halo Series event.
Together, we biked to various restaurants on Temple and sampled their delicious foods. The tour featured the diverse and unique culinary expertise from our partners:
- Tribal Café: Soulful, fresh Cali-pino cuisine (a. k. a. “Filipino by way of California”)
- Temple Seafood/Dollar Hits: Authentic Filipino street food featuring fire-grilled meats-on-sticks
- The Park’s Finest BBQ: Backyard Boogie Barbecue, Fil-Am style
- FrankieLucy Bakeshop: Dreamy desserts infused with Filipino flavors like ube, buko pandan and more
It was a 3-mile beginner ride featuring eateries and retailers in Historic Filipinotown (Hi Fi), and the schedule ran in a loop starting and ending at Echo Park Lake. Photos of the event are coming, but if you’re interested in the route we took:
