Taking on Temple for Vision Zero

Temple Street is an iconic crossroad in Hi Fi. It also has a darker side. It’s a designated member of LA’s High Injury Network: the High Injury Network (HIN) spotlights streets with a high concentration of traffic collisions that result in severe injuries and deaths, with an emphasis on those involving people walking and bicycling.

The City of LA is taking on the challenge of eliminating serious and fatal traffic collisions by 2025 through Vision Zero.

ENGAGEMENT ALONG TEMPLE + IN HI FI

Public Matters is honored to be part of building local awareness along Temple St. with a group of enthusiastic and committed project partners: Gabba Gallery, Los Angeles Walks, and Pilipino Workers Center. Our team’s work will be one component of the City’s Vision Zero program, which aims to eliminate serious and fatal traffic collisions in Los Angeles by 2025 through a mix of engineering, education, enforcement, and engagement.

Seven other teams will develop and coordinate similar community-based projects throughout the City of Los Angeles.

We’ll have boots on the ground and art + artist-driven activities leading our engagement strategies. Stay tuned for more information in the coming months. For now:
