Photo Recap – East Yard Communities for Environmental Justice Field Trip

East Yard Communities for Environmental Justice led the ELARA students on a Ground Truthing Field Trip around East L.A. during the Fall 2017 semester. The field trip was an exercise in exploration and interrogation. Students investigated individual buildings along Cesar Chavez Ave. and figured out as a team whether it was a Sensitive Receptor (a place where large numbers of people gather), an Issue (a place that causes an environmental harm to the people around it), or Unclear (a place where it is unclear whether it creates harm or a good in the community).
