A Good Mischief Toolkit for Neighborhood Self-Determination // Interactive Activities

“The Nose Knows”: Participants experienced the stark contrast between “Industrial Stank” and the aspirational “Smell of No Pollution in City Terrace.” Developed with The Institute for Art and Olfaction.

“Pollution Monster Piñata Smash”: A cathartic activity for a community too-burdened by toxins. Piñatas made by Piñata Design Studio.

The Pollution Monsters were filled with “toxic” candy. The wrappers mimicked smog and hazardous chemicals; a limited number boasted flavors like “trash” and “rotten eggs.” Educational signage introduced participants to the most common pollutants found in the area.
